Of the eleven Flemish tapestries, for reasons of conservation only individual examples were presented from the 24th March until 17. June 2012 in a special display chamber. A particular speciality is the pair of hand-woven carpets, for they show humans in ape form in scenes called “Apes on the Falcon Hunt” and “Apes Feasting in the Forest”.
Both these two pieces and pieces from a St. Paul series were first mentioned in 1559 as being in the ownership of Count Günther, to whom the five still surviving tapestries with further scenes with biblical content also belonged.
