Guide through the Bach Exhibition
The works of J.S. Bach are at the centre of the newly arranged exhibition in the Palace Museum. In addition the historic, artistic, musical and scientific background to the Bach period are illuminated. Furthermore, the exhibition devotes itself to a chronicle of the Bach Church in Arnstadt as well as its 300-year organ history. As an outstanding exhibit, the organ console by the organ builder Johann Friedrich Wender from Mühlhausen is presented, which was completed in the Neue Kirche in 1703 and on which Johann Sebastian Bach himself was organist.
